At the February IPMS Toronto meeting, Scott Jones taught us how he constructs his own trees for use in 1/35 scale dioramas. Club videographer Robert Wlodarek captured this seminar and has made it available to share with everyone.

Make sure you find time to come to the IPMS Toronto February meeting as we will be having a seminar conducted by members John Antoni and Scott Jones discussing their techniques for making scale trees for their dioramas.
“John Antoni will be conducting a seminar on how to construct 1/35 pine trees, that would be 40′ to 60′ high in real life. He will take people through the 6 steps required to accomplish a convincing end result. There will be 1 bonus step that shows a tree covered in snow!”
It’s a pretty straightforward process, basically using 3″ paintbrush bristles, wire and wooden dowels, and a few other commonly used items in the hobby.”

In the spring of 2017 we had the pleasure of having famed modeller Mike Rinaldi visit the Toronto area and conduct a number of seminars at Hornet Hobbies covering his hairspray and oil painting techniques. IPMS Toronto member Robert Wlodarek joined the seminars and was able to capture these fantastic videos.

In his debut on the IPMS Toronto channel, member Elliot Jailal walks us through the techniques that he uses to paint figures for his dioramas. There is a lot of great advice here and we hope to film more videos with him in the future. Credit for the video goes to Robert Wlodarek.
