Experiences of a Russian Tanker in WWII

At our April IPMS Toronto meeting, we were lucky to experience a seminar presented by Serge Kaznadiy who spoke about his father, Ivan Kaznadiy.  Ivan was a machine-gunner in the Russian T-34 tank in 1943-45, then patrolled Austrian forests on a British Lend-lease Valentine tank in 1946, and was also a cockpit gunner in the Russian Petlyakov Pe-2 assault plane in 1947 in Northern Russia.

Below you can find Serge’s presentation in PDF format, containing a treasure trove of rare photos and notes of his father’s service.  Thank you again for a great presentation!

Polish Aviation Museum in Łask

From our friends in Poland, come some excellent reference and walk around photos of a wide variety of aircraft on display at the aviation museum in Łask, also home to an annual model show and contest.

“The contents of the exhibition involve viewing military bases on terrain that contains planes and helicopters. The photos from the exhibition are a very good reference material, illustrating many details that can help construct models. The scale model exhibition contest in Łask invites everybody to visit the IPMS Warszawa website where you can view the remainder of pictures from the exhibition.  http://ipms-warszawa.pl/lask-2015/

Credits to Darek Trzeciak and Adam Grzymski for the photos.”

Warsaw Modeling Fiesta 2015 – Videos

From the international file, another report from this year’s Warsaw Modeling Fiesta courtesy of Robert Wlodarek who traveled to Poland to attend this contest and supply us with some great photos:

On June 13-14 the Warsaw modeling fiesta was held, where more than 400 models were issued into different categories. Similar to last year, this meet-up consisted of participants and friendsfrom IPMS Warsaw. I established new friendships and had a very wonderful time at the Model Contest.”
