It was a great turn out for our December Flea Market. We didn’t get a chance to do the usual show and tell, so bring out your models again in January and we’ll do it all over again!
Dave Browne joins the Garage Studio Modelers (Harvey and Dave) for an in-depth discussion of his recent Sherman build.

| Just a reminder about our upcoming meeting on Wednesday, December 6 from 7 to 9 PM. We will be holding our Flea Market during the first half of the meeting. During the second half of the meeting, we are pleased to welcome Garfield Ingram as our guest speaker with a presentation entitled ‘A Visit to The First World War Western Front’. Garfield is a long-time member of IPMS Toronto, specializing in aircraft. In the last number of years, he has been focusing his attention on the first World War, building a variety of aircraft subjects in 1/48th and 1/32nd scale. He has taken two trips to the western front which include two hot spots- The Somme and Ypres. His Somme tour will take you along on seeing the area from the air, from a pilot’s perspective. He flew the low level route of Von Richthofen’s final flight and photographed the crash site from the air. The second half of the presentation will be of his trip to one of Canada’s most significant areas, the Ypres salient. He will show shots of many of the significant areas where our Canadian boys fought like Paaschendale Ridge. He will bring along a few models of WW1 aircraft as well and will be happy to discuss techniques like rigging with you. Our monthly meetings take place the FIRST Wednesday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Doors are open around 6:45pm, so members may arrive early to setup. Back in August 2023 we were treated to an excellent presentation by Steve Mercer where he talked about his experiences serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. This is a perfect time to remember the sacrifices of our veterans and take a moment to thank them.

It is not easy to do this, as I regret to inform you of the loss of one of our close scale modelling friends. William (Bill) Dingle died suddenly and unexpected earlier this week. We have not only lost a close friend, but we lost his talents as a master modeller in the 1/72 armour model community. He was well known internationally as a great modeller and great friend. He was a true friend personally and will be deeply missed! Bill helped found AMPS Fort York and has been instrumental in supporting and contributing to IPMS Toronto.
Bill leaves behind a loving family, with his mother (Jean); sisters Melody and Becky; brothers Duane and Bobby; nieces Sarah and Kayleigh (and her husband James); great-niece Margot; and great-nephew Jensen. Our hearts and condolences go out to his family.
At this time, there will be no service as we leave the grieving to his family. Bill, keep building up there!
