Here’s your reminder that our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 4th from 7 to 9 PM.  Doors open around 6:45 PM, we recommend you arrive early to facilitate starting on time.  

Photo-etched parts are the bane of many modellers because they combine extreme thinness with zero forgiveness. They’re springy, razor-sharp, and smaller than the tools meant to handle them—so they ping off into the void, deform if you look at them wrong, and demand perfect bends on the first try. They won’t respond to normal cement, require cyanoacrylate or solder, and highlight every handling mistake once painted. The result is exquisite scale fidelity at the cost of patience, eyesight, and occasionally one’s sanity.  

Fortunately for us, our distinguished guest Darren White of Peel Scale Modellers will be conducting a workshop on working with Photo Etched (PE) parts and accessories.  As a talented and highly accomplished scale modeller who specializes in ships, Darren is an expert in working with PE – he promises to make your experience with PE parts a little less painful!

We will be doing a draw for a beautiful model donated to the club by Steve Fall.  To be eligible you must show your membership card, so please don’t forget to bring it and wear it with pride!

• 2026 memberships are due, please visit https://ipmstoronto.com/membership/  please and thank you. Without your membership fees we could not host these meetings, so please go to the site at your earliest convenience.  
• We are always looking for members to present any relevant material like museum visits, personal projects, tools, techniques, tips, etc. Please write to IPMSToronto@gmail.com or malaudisa@gmail.com if you would like to present at an upcoming meeting.  Our monthly meetings take place the FIRST Wednesday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
