In Remembrance: Bill Dingle

It is not easy to do this, as I regret to inform you of the loss of one of our close scale modelling friends. William (Bill) Dingle died suddenly and unexpected earlier this week. We have not only lost a close friend, but we lost his talents as a master modeller in the 1/72 armour model community. He was well known internationally as a great modeller and great friend. He was a true friend personally and will be deeply missed! Bill helped found AMPS Fort York and has been instrumental in supporting and contributing to IPMS Toronto.

Bill leaves behind a loving family, with his mother (Jean); sisters Melody and Becky; brothers Duane and Bobby; nieces Sarah and Kayleigh (and her husband James); great-niece Margot; and great-nephew Jensen. Our hearts and condolences go out to his family.

At this time, there will be no service as we leave the grieving to his family. Bill, keep building up there!

  1. Worked with this man in the past and he was always a great guy. Knew him in 2000 and we both worked for the TDSB together on the weekends. Super friendly, professional and an all around great guy to work with. I’m sure he’ll be sincerely missed. My condolences to his Family and close friend and colleagues.

  2. Bill was a nephew of my wife and we see this on this post! Can you let us know more information on this sad event? We live in Greenwood ,NS and knew Billy as a child, then we moved to Alberta and lost touch with his whole family. Any information you can provide would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Dave and Joan Richards

  3. I’m Devon(Bobby), Billy’s youngest brother. I’d ONLY just learned of his passing; our family’s rather spread out, and only received a message from Duane, our other brother, that he sent just after his passing. Anyways, I wanted to take a second and thank all of you for being an integral part of what Billy loved and breathed – his art. I grew up being inspired by his gifts, watching him paint constantly. This translated into my attending art college, and am now a fine artist and designer. He would’ve been proud, but, alas, we became cut off over the many years. I loved Billy much, though painfully at a distance. Thank you for posting such a caring post on what he meant to you. If there’s someone there who can fill in some blanks for me on how he passed, whatnot, I’d be eternally grateful. I can be reached via Instagram: @RDevonBradbury, or I can check back here for direction. Again, thank you so much for being such a rewarding part of his life.
